Quick question... we pulled out the transmission of my wife's pickup last week and are redoing the clutch, gearing the Transfer case, ect.
The rear U joints I replaced yesterday, was going to do to front as well, but was told that they are not replaceable due to it being a CV joint. However, looking at the U joints.. they look exactly like the other U joints on the rear shaft and the front of the front shaft. Yeah, there is the CV part between them.. but that's not what I wanted to replace... just the actual ujoints.
Are they the same, can I replace them without messing with the CV part between them? I don't want to cut them out and find out after the fact I've destroyed something that I can't replace.
