81 BJ-60 w/B3: Biodiesel candidate?

I'm looking for a candidate rig for biodiesel or SVO. This will be a trip rig for hauling lots of whitewater gear on monthly expeditions. Lots of freeway driving, but needs to be able to handle the tough roads too. Not so much trail driving.

Got a line on an imported 81 BJ-60 with a 4cyl B3 (from CA). Anything specific I should have my mechanic check? What is necessary to convert to biodiesel?

Seller claims 22mpg -- realistic?

I know the rear main seal is leaking -- what problems will I see with that?

I'm an aspiring gearhead, but still just getting started with Cruisers -- I appreciate any help.

that is all about right.. 3B runs great on bio.. You might have to change some fuel lines here and there but I know lots of guys running these on bio with no problems...
