Landspeeder ( this is how they know you) what year LCAs did you hammer the solid lowes rod in to? non 96-97 correct?

I didn't realize they were tube. You could make the Lowes solution even stronger by drilling some holes through the whole thing and rosette welding the LCA to the lowes rods. That would be as strong as if it were solid. Combine that with a piece of angle iron and you'd have something.

I'll have to cut one open to determine the ID... but for the innerds of the rear LCA... I'm not sure Lowe's carries that size stock... for the tie rod the stock is perfect... I'll go home and take a pic of the stock that is waiting for my tie rod... I've already added it to the steering relay rod. but the relay rod requires some guesstimating and cutting of the stock since it's shorter. I'll draw up a ms paint of it.

never hammered in to the LCA's... we're now discussing two things and it's getting corn-fussing.... i hammered stock into the tie-rod up front...
BUTT... putting solid stock into the rear LCA's would be beef... and i do plan on doing that as well as sleeving the outer... I've gone through a handful of LCA's as well as driveshafts, as well as tie rods and relay rods...

here's the stock for the front tie/relay rods...

3/4" rod at 3' per rod at lowes

This shows how much was removed for the front steering rod. the rear rod will take up the entire 3ft of the rod uncut... done it to all my 80's and a few others that like to save money.
