I agree with you for the most part but at some point the lack of parts will mean that buyers will start to look elsewhere. Front fenders (wings) are hard to come by and clearly these are the most likely parts to be damaged in an accident (including yours). To the best of my knowledge no one makes aftermarket body panels for these and they (fenders) have been NLA from Toyota for years.

I agree, we will eventually tip that point where parts are just so hard to come by theyll fall out of favour due to ownership cost.

Fortunately for us we are able to get allot of those kinds of parts from breakers in the middle east (very dry rust free spares), some of which are even RHD, of which 80's seem to be in high supply...

But even then, eventually those will dry up too, who knows maybe someone at that point will have a business model to start making those parts due to demand, but we will have to see.
