Anyone know if a 79 and newer FJ40 body tub will fit on a 78 and older FJ40 frame?
I know the mid body mount would have to be fabricated and the rear body mounts would sit on the same place (maybe drill new holes) but what I have always wondered about is if the cowl mounts are in the same place and if the body will even fit on an older frame?
I once saw a 74 FJ40 with a 79 body but did not take a good look to see how it all worked out.
Weird question, I know, just thinking out loud. I'd like to know if I could get a 79 and newer Aqualu body for a 78 frame I have and then be able to run the gas tank in the floor where I've always thought it was safer. I also like the way the 79 seats bolt right to the floor. I don't mind fabricating the middle mounts but don't want to get too carried away.
