78 Water temp sensor resistance (1 Viewer)

Anyone have a resistance chart for a 78 FJ40 water sensor? As part of my ongoing wiring project I'm attempting to get my stock gauge working. I have removed the aftermarket temp guage and replaced the sender with the $10 one from cruiser corps. The guage sits all the way to the left and doesn't move as the truck heats up. At around 50 degrees ambient temp I'm getting a reading of 10.54k ohms.

I found the following page on that thread, I'm guessing the sender I received from Cruiser Corps is bad due to it's 10.54kohm reading? What does app. after the ohm symbol mean?

Also this states way lower ohms than I'm getting.

"Approximate". Yep, 10K is high.
