came out of a running fj40 last week. includes third member, housing, shafts, complete brakes,........ all still intact and in one piece. 4.11 gears.

located in stockton CA $150 and i'm not shipping it!;p

Would you ship the third?

Would you trade it for a battery?! Alright... bad joke! Like the 4.11's but don't have need for them yet (haven't made it that far yet) Just wanted to let you know that I still have it sitting in the back of the cruiser.... waitin to get back home!

d'animal: nope, 78s still had the coarse pinion but fine spline axles. oem fine spline 4.11 thirds are very few and far between...

ryan S: if you need a 4.11 third, i probably have one i can get to the L.A. area at x-mas time. i guess i could ship it as well but it ain't gonna be cheap.

noFJyet: thanks bud. lemme know when you get the bat back to your place. and hit me up for anything else you might need for the 40. btw, change your username already!:flipoff2:

Actually, I need two 4:11 thirds for my fj60. As I understand it, the thirds from a 78 fj40 are a direct bolt-in. Other than the 78 fj40, thirds out of a 62 are the best option. I am not in a hurry, as I won't need them until I go to 33's, which would be about 20,000 more miles, or about a year. I would have to ship them regardless, unless I was lucky enough to find a set in Seattle or eastern WA. If you can come up with two at some point that would be great, but I'd still buy one at a time. Until then, guess I ought to put up a WTB thread in the classifieds.
Thanks.
