The nearest place to Blue Springs for resurfacing a flywheel I have found is Clay County Engine Rebuilders. I called and they said they can do a 2 step flywheel, but I am wondering if anyone knows of a better place to take it or if by looking at these pictures I have bigger problems. I have a few deep gouges (the dark areas) but after I took these pictures I can see little cracks. Should I just clean it and run it or see if a place can fix it up?

I had a flywheel off of a 51' ford flathead cleaned up at a machine shop that was in much worse shape. Can the shop you called check out your pictures? If not, then might be a good opportunity to go check out their shop. You will know right away if they are "backyard" or not. Good luck!

Did you try Certified Transmission? They have a location in Blue Springs.

at one time the south oriley on 7 hwy did a flywheel. NOW.. they did the step 100% backwards and had to redo it so i don't use them anymore but they did flywheels.. NOt well but they did do them.. We use a small shop out by grey industries to do ours. we have 2 to take in so if your not in a hurry maybe after the first of the year i could drop it with our spares.
