hi. iv got a land cruiser 75 series 1hz and it has no pulling and speed doesnt go more 100kmph. i knew my engine was opend a few times and it needed a rebuild so i decided to buy a almost new 1hz engine for a toyota land cruiser 79 series. after i changed my engine the problem was still there. i changed my nozzles and serviced my injector pump fully. any idea what can be the problem?

Sounds like fuel blockage somewhere in system check water/diesel filter if it has one, fuel pick up in tank. You could drain a few liters from the bung on the bottom of the tank and check for black type sludge or any growth living in the tank. I would guess you have changed the fuel filter when you fitted the new engine.

i changed the filters and i checked my tank too. i draind all the diesel and it was all clear. what i dont understand is the engine i tip top for the 79 series but it still doesnt have speed and power. can it be because i used the injector pump for my old 1hz engine? though i had serviced the injector pump fully and paid about $600 for it. and the gearbox is not for the 1hz its similar to the 2h type. so can that be a reason?

Abdul ,when you say you used your old pump, did you swap over the drive gear on the pump from the 75 series engine?
Was the old pump bench tested for pressure?
Are you getting any smoke from the new engine? Does it start easy?

when i say i used my old pump i mean i removed the whole injector pump from my old egine and put it on my new engine. the old pump was bench tested and fully serviced and is working perfectly. the old engine used to smoke but the new engine is not removing any smoke and its starts very easily. u heat once and its kik start

Ok ,that sounds good. Maybe it just needs the fuel turned up a little. Was this near new used engine from a wreck?
If the engine has good compression and a good pump ,the only thing that can hold it back is lack of fuel.

but tthe engine is for the 79 series and gear box is for the 75 series. and both gearbox arent the same because 75 is a smaller gearbox compared to the 79 series. so cant that be a reason?

No ,the 75 series would be a bit heavier. It is the older H55f gearbox. The 79 series has a R151 gearbox ,I think its a little longer but narrower.
The R151 is based on the old R140 gearbox from a mid 80s Celica car.
In any case ,I'm sure either gearbox will fit on either engine. Although some cross members wont fit onto models with leaf suspension.
The H55f is the preferred gearbox for longevity by a country mile.
I cant see either gearbox being responsible for your lack of power,if anything the 79 series had a 1 more HP ,possibly from the lighter R151 gearbox.
The other thing to check is the max rpm in neutral. I think the 1HZ should get at least 4200rpm but you should check the good book.
If it doesn't reach that rpm ,then the fuel needs to be turned up.
As I said before, this would do better in the diesel forum where people who are into diesels are more likely to see it.
