75 series transfer issues

Hi guys, I recently purchased a 75 series ute 1992 hzj.
done about 280k and has had a reconned box and heavy duty clutch installed.
thing is the hi-low shifter wont move at all, seems to be stuck in hi-2. Was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to sort it out? Cheers.

Are you sure you are moving it in the right direction? Pull straight back for 4wd, then across right for low range. Sometimes the linkages freeze up from no use, get under there and spray them all with WD40 or similar.

Hi sounds like it is the bush sized up.
Get an oxy and heat the bush where the stick moves back and foward. When its hot move it and it will stay like that.
The perment fix is to put a grease nipple in like the old landcruisers up to about 1970.

I agree ,most likely seized up from lack of use. Lots of solvent,regular lube and regular use will fix it.
The heat trick will work too but I would try the solvent 1st.

No worries, regularly nuked it with CRC all week and kept trying to move it. Then when moment of truth came where I was about to drive onto the beach it actually shifted, pretty stoked.

Keep using it ,it will smooth out after a while.
