I have a 71 fj, 3 speed trans. Had a bad throughout bearing replacing with a new Aisin clutch kit. Got the clutch in, trans back in went to adjust the 3 clutch fingers, first one seemed to large of a gap (1/8-1/4) turned the flywheel and noticed one corner of the pressure plate was not pulled in tight to the flywheel. Loosened all of the bolts on the pressure plate tried tapping it. It is only about 1mm holding it popping in place. It won’t move. Is there anyway to get this in place with out pulling the transmission back out?

Thank you any help or suggestions
Steve

Hard to say but it looks to me like you dropped/struck the flywheel right on the lip. Put that section at the bottom, use a small bottle jack to push the clutch up a little and then tighten the bolts.

I pull and install the engine/tranny/transfer as one unit, much easier to get alignment tho the unit is much heavier.

Thank you I’ll give it a try.
