Cliffs insane Terrain is hosting the 6th annual Toyota Jamboree on September 22, 23rd 2012

This event in the past has been a very fun event over 2 days at the cliffs in North Central Illinois. It has previously been held in Late July and this year we are turning it into a Fall gathering.

To see the Hosts web site, see the rules and fees please visit
The Cliffs Off-Road Park

Entry to the Park is $20 for a driver and $5 for passengers.
There is a camping Fee of $10
If you stay and drive the next day, its only $10 for an additional day of trail use.

We are going to have Guided Trail Outings during the day that cover extreme Trails to the easy ones for all Skill Levels. You are also free to break out into your own groups and explore the park as well. The Park Closes by 5pm so if you are not camping you will have to leave the park by then. That night we are going to have a cook out or you can visit one of the many restaurants in the close area for dinner. We are going to have a campfire to gather around that evening as well.

Once The Sun Goes down we will be conducting a Night ride through the park. Night wheeling is very different, very fun and also difficult so it is going to be at your discretion if you want to go or not.

The Following day on Sunday, we will have more guided trail rides or tour the park as you feel comfortable.

Feel free to discuss and comment in this thread, ill update as I can with a Role Call as to who is attending.

Its unfortunate that there has been so little interest from this forum, considering that is where this event started from!

I have 25 people that have said they are gonna be there covering FJ-80s 100's Cruisers, 4Runners and Tacoma's

Just a quick update for those in this forum.
I am getting a special buy in with rigid industries off road lighting and will be getting %25 off of their web site prices on their products. Products like the Dually D2 and 10" e series light bars.

10" E series Combo Light bar, $399.99

I want to pass this along to you as a favor and toyota lover if you are interested email me at josephkrelle@yahoo.com

Ill be putting my order in with them on Monday the 10th of september so we can all have our stuff for the jambo weekend night run!

FYI: Please don't wait till Monday morning to ask questions, If interested, jump on this now.

GX470 From WI planning on attending

I was planning on traveling down from Wisconsin and trying out this Off-road Park. I would like to meet up with some others so I am not driving alone in the park. I am not sure if this event will go as a group or everyone for themself. I am driving an '07 GX470, mostly stock but have slightly larger tires and removed running boards.
If anyone else from Wisconsin is heading down let me know, I live near the Milwaukee area.

Guided for sure... and good move on removing the running boards. We will have a guided day out. Still Looking for someone to take the noobs out, and it might be me which is fine. Im just hoping its not muddy. Park is lots of fun when its dry.

There are lots of tight spots at this park, so even when you are on a small trail, a rig the size of a 100 series you are going to have to be cautious of your mirrors and your rear bumper over hangs.

Best thing you can bring,, A CB so you can get instruction and tips as your trail ride... hand held or installed.

Just picked up an 85 4runner and was wondering when this event was in 2012 (I was at the 1st one 6 years ago in my 05 Tacoma).

Too short of notice for me to get properly equipped but I'll keep my eye out for the future events for sure.

If any of the tight trails are too much for me is there a bypass at the technical spot or only a bypass for the whole trail? I am willing to try anything but if my 120 can't squeeze through I will have to pass on that trial I guess. I am not worried too much about scratches just don't want to lose a bumper:eek:. I have a couple of the hand held walkie talkies, hope those work. Is the game plan to be there at 9:00 to register?

I've been a few times with H3 Hummers and FJ Cruisers and although tight, no real problems when careful and using a spotter.

I plan on making this event. I'll be driving my '85 4Runner from the Quad City area. I can lead a group out if anyone needs help getting there. You just have to be prepared to run under 70 the whole way.

Also want to add that there is a State Park just across the river with Camping (Near Lock and Dam 5) and Starved Rock State Park is just down river (Lock and Dam 6).

I also have a coworker that would come if its an open event (He drives an H3)....

Well its here, 5 days away! Weather looks good. Little bit of rain this week, hope it won't be too much, just enough to keep the dust down.

A couple of Details before the event.

I am planning on being there by 9:00 on Saturday Morning to meet those that are coming.

I am planning on taking a noob group out at 10:00 sharp. If you are new to Off Road this is the group that you want to be in, we will go out and get some basic skills in before the more challenging afternoon runs.

If you are camping, please bring a bundle of firewood to contribute to the cause, night temps have been in the 40-50s and a good sized fire will be nice to have. The Local Gas stations sell bundles from what I can remember.

Dinner Saturday Night Is most likely going to be at Fat DaddyZ Biker Bar up the street in Senica IL A great place to grab a brew and a burger. This will happen after 5 when the park closes for the day. This place is 3 Miles from the Cliffs.

After Dinner you can set up camp for your self, details will be given at the cliffs that evening. Campers and Trailers are allowed for the over night, so those that have them can bring them.

The night run will kick off around 7:30-8

The rest of the night is camp fire hang out time.

Sunday, is open ride day, but im sure many of us will break out into smaller groups and explore the park. Those that are coming on Sunday only will have to find a group to meet up with, it should not be hard, there so far looks like there is going to be a good turn out.

What about Friday night?

In the past there was an option for people to camp there on Friday night as well. Is that available this year as well?

Is there a headcount somewhere for the event?

Had fun guys. Let me know the next time you head to the park, I'm up for doing it again!

Thanks to CHITOWNFJ for helping put on this event this year. The meet was located at Cliff's Insane Terrain Off-road Park in Marseilles, Illinois. The trip out there was well worth it. There were about 15 or so rigs that showed up- Lots of FJ's, an H3, an 80's yota truck, a Lexus Gx (Funny stories there), and a few 4-runners. Most of the guys were from Chicago but a few came from Wisconsin and then there was us Missourians. A solid weekend meeting new guys, seeing some awesome builds, exploring new territory, and making new friends. Couldn't ask for much better!

Here's some pics. Enjoy!

Bone dry for the Cliffs :)

Wish my 80 was together, it would have been fun!

Yeah, never seen it so dry. It was the most fun I've ever had at the place. It's just too bad that it took a whole summer of drought to get it just right.
