In reading the old F engine repair manual. Here is what it says:

1. engine to 170-185F
2. Check headbolts, rocker shaft bolts torque.
3. Set engine to 500 rpm.
4. Intake to .25mm
5. Exhaust to .35mm

It has been awhile since I have done this (on my 2F) and if i remember correctly, I set #1 to TDC compression stroke and then set the valve clearance of some valves, then 180 degrees on the motor and set the rest.

Is this implying I do this while the F engine is running? Time to invite a friend over? Tips? Tricks?

Thanks guys,

Dallas

It does imply a running motor. Old school guys that do it all the time can adjust the valves while running. I end up just having my feelers all bent up. I do mine not running on the 6 then start it get it hot again and do the other 6.
