Heya, got a fellow Cruiserhead who owns a 63 40. I believe he's got 4.88s. He wants to swap in 4.11s. Should this be a bolt on process? Any changes in splines, etc? Thanks.

If he has 4.88s he has aftermarket gears which should be 27 spline, and uses a fine spline yoke. If he swaps to fine spline 4.11s they should work just fine.

if.......................you're talking about the pinion. If you're talking about axle splines it really could be anything and you won't know until you pull it apart. It all basically bolts together which means it can be pretty much anything. ;p

he'll need to make sure he gets the pumpkin with the smaller holes for the mounting studs, swap out side gears to course spline (if he still has the oem course axles) and swap the pinion flange to the correct bolt pattern for this driveshaft (or swap the yoke on the driveshaft).
