is it realy terrible ? i have a ten minute drive to work up mariner then down mariner .

i was thinking about an fj62 one is available , i just dont want to spend $300 a month in fuel .

my jetta is tooo small for my kids and the 40's ive looked at dont work either .

i dont want another rusted beaten 60 so this 62 maybe a good comprimise for now .

the v8 40 was macgivered to be polite , the frame had patches , the doors did not line up when closed , the hard top was dented and bent , the propane system was not certifed , the entire floor pan area was fiber glass over top of rust ( shakes head ) , need i go on , he wanted $7500 , it would need too much work for me .

Terrible? Well, put it this way, I get 330 kilometres per tank, or about 12-13 miles/imp gallon.

gord no offense intended ,but that 60 is is not in half as good of shape as the last one i sold for $6500 .

You sure you were'nt looking at one of mine? ;)

i just figured out the 62 has a 90 liter tank at 1.35 per liter thats $121.50 to fill up if i match kim's numbers of 330 kms per tank wich works out to be about 19 liters per 100 kms or $25.65 per 100 kms .

ouch almost .26 per km just for fuel my 15 km to and from work comute is almost $ 8 in gas a day !

if i only drove it the 30 kms per day that works out to $2920 just in fuel alone , thats frickin ridilulous !

it was not perfect , but it was good , the 3b is a slug especialy with stock gears and 33's , i was going to need to dump another $2000 just to get it to moderatley acceptable drivable condition , i dont know what the best solution is ? maybe 31" inch tires on a fj 62 with a diesel motor swap with a 60 front clip swap , hmm .

It's not so bad actually, since you don't tend to fill the entire dry capacity of the 90L tank (unless you run out of gas).

I think that's better mileage than my FJ40. I don't hold the cruisers fuel habits against it, but I sure don't drive it daily anymore :meh:.
