I put a new stereo in my 88 62 today, all works great until you increase the throttle then it shuts off... ideas?I installed my stereo this weekend on my 1989 62. The pictures in this thread were helpful, but with a few differences. The wire colors in my dash do not match the wiring diagrams in the FSM 100%. The black wire in the pictures did not lead to a ground, but it was a lead wire to the rear speakers. I ended up using the stock Alpine harnes and ran power to the battery positive terminal and grounded to the chassis in the passenger A pillar. His pictures were correct for the ACC/ Ignition lead. That’s the one I could not figure out, but finally did.
The radio is the only thing that seems to have an issue when you hit the gas? Normally I'd say your alternator is failing, but you should see other issues with voltage drop too. Otherwise most likely a loose connection in your wiring?I put a new stereo in my 88 62 today, all works great until you increase the throttle then it shuts off... ideas?
