Does anyone have any guidance for locating 30 spline 60 Series locking hubs?

I'm not very familiar with the 60's and I know there are several of TAC folks that more in tune with goings on. Thanks.

What are you trying to do? Did you blow a hub? blow the inner splined section of a hub? The hubs from 76-1989 will fit as will lockouts from an 80..
YOu need new hubs? or just fix one you have.. there are aftermarket suppliers of inner hub pieces out there..

Good article.

Part time the 80. Nope, so far the drive flanges have held up but the front drive line vibration is getting old. So the 76 & up will work but do they all have 30 splines?

The plan is to procure at least one set of hubs (need spares too) and fix the viscous coupling rather than blow $660 for Slee's kit. Preheating and welding the

There are 2 different lengths of splines on the lockouts. 76-78 and 79+. Also 2 different lengths of splines on 80's.. I think 93-94 were different than later.
if yours is the longer or shorter I don't know.

You get the thing to go to part time. measure the spline section on a driveplate and report back.

OH.. And I'm pretty sure most were 27 spline that could be converted to stronger 30 if you got 30spline birfs from bobby long and the hub part as well.
Dang now I'm gonna have to go count..

On the 80's the 91-94 have the shorter birfs and 95+ are longer. I have read somewhere on MUD the Aisin hubs can be used without modification on the older birfs and the newer models would need a new snap ring groove machined or dremeled into them.

Measure the spline section of the drive plate? For depth?

The 80's all have 30 spline birfs. It is not my preference but TG offers the chromoly 30 spline hub gear.

I'd recommend another vendor other than trailgear.. I'll let you do your own research but not exactly the most ethical of vendors out there in my eyes.
Bobby Long sells the 30 spline hub gear. Possibly marlin.. (didn't see on marlins site tho sorry)

You answered my questions above on the length of birfs. That's what I wanted you to be aware of the differences based on what your trying to do.

Sounds like all you need is a set of hubs, can even be off an IFS truck or Cruiser/minitruck (asin style) and change out the center to 30 spline from bobby long of longfieldsuperaxles.. or other vendor.

I think your cheapest bet is to try and find a set off an IFS truck that someone swapped over to solid axle. New asin hubs will be bout $400 a side. and buy the new 30spine inner

I agree, TG is the last choice. I was not aware Bobby Long also made 30 spline hub gears.

Dang it, I just sold my IFS hubs about 6 months ago. I'll keep an eye out for hubs off of an IFS truck as they normally sell cheap and $130 for hub gears is reasonable. New is not an option, just too rich for my blood.

I thought about that too, but the IFS are 27 spline and you want the 30 right? (Ahh, replacing the inners with 30 spline fancy metal, got it) There's a guy on ttora selling some, sorry I didn't see the thread earlier.
