I'm going to buy a 1983 4WD PU and would like to know where are the areas for rust problems, how to correct them and how to prevent it. Any mods for this year? Thanks for the help.

Looking for rust
Look at the left and right rocker panels, and check the rear fenders. If you can, pull off the plastic fender liner so you can see the inside of the fender.

Look/poke around the frame near the gas tank. Also check around the bottom of the front fenders tward the cab and floor boards on that area.
