Is anyone interested in a detailed page here on how to change a 4m40 2.9 tdi pump on the Pajero to fit and work on a 1KZ TE engine? I recently did this and know there is no info online almost.
I have a 4M40 pump on standby, but also a reconned original pump.
I have done some research and found that it is basically a straight fit - the injector pipes need some slight bending to fit but other that that it is apparently a straight fit.
One thing that I do know it that the 4M40 pump must be advanced around 2⁰ for decent performance(turn pump top closer to the engine). It would be good to get the car on a dyno and egt's checked.
Also the support bracket at the bottom.needs a bit of work to fit and is crucial to not put too much stress on the pump body.
