4Low, no reverse

Was out playing around Frosty Park today. There was a fair amount of snow and I wasn't baby-ing the rig by any means.. pulled a buddy out of a ditch and then my truck died. Tried to back up, engine idled extremely low for a second and then died. Tried again. Drive works, low works, 2nd works.. but the engine dies when in reverse.

4hi works fine all around but I dropped it off at my buddy's shop because the check engine light came on.

I welcome thoughts and/or opinions from you fine gentlemen.

Most obvious easy checks would be the air intake hose (for cracks) and the electrical wiring bundle near the EGR valve.

Air intake hose had a nice hole. Possibly ripped it a bit more with all the hard reversing i was doing on 17yr old motor mounts. Lots of torque in reverse, right?

We'll see how she shapes up with a new hose.

Air boot replaced. Right as rain. Love this truck.

Cool - that's one reason there's always a roll of duct tape in my truck. I've heard lots of stories of misbehavior if that intake hose cracks.
