I need opinions on 45 pickups from honorus. First hand info would be great. I have a few leads and I'm thinking of bringing one back.

I know they don't suffer from rust as badly as other central american countires. There also seem to be quite a few still running around that are in decent shape.

Anyone have a rough idea of what the sell for locally in Hondorus? Obviously condition will affect price.

Any info/opinions would be appreciated.

They live a hard life is what I know for sure. I think this one carried two dozen farmers to the field and 6 cattle home every day of its life. So I would look at frame integrity first.

I stumbled onto a hj-45 here in NC (your OBX right?) only 20 min from the house and 2500 bux!!!

but after looking at it, it had scab plates all over the frame, cobbled together spring hangers, an FJ body on HJ frame, with 1H motor that ran, desintergrated interior. All in all I almost fell for it but knew it would be 10k to get it right.

Yup I'm on the outer banks. I know they all live pretty hard lives down there. The one pictured has been for sale forever. It was on ebay then on craigslist. I think it changed hand quite a few times. I heard a few good stories about it. I would rather start from scratch then try and fix something like that.

A friend went to Honduras last year in search of a 45 to bring back. The prices varied between 4 and 10 thousand, and most of them are really used. Then add the cost of transport to wherever you want it to go. For him it turned out to be more than he wanted to spend.
