I was reading the thread about the disappointment of the OME springs on a troopy when LC_Hamma suggested coils. . . .

I assume someone here has done this. I'm curious to see what springs were used. I now run 35's on my 45 and would like to get a bit more height.

My FJ turned BJ runs on coils on all four corners & it is very very smooth other than the sway bar needs to be beefed up now. Changing lanes now is 'interesting'.

I don't see why it'd be any different than a 40 or a :pig: as the front frame width dimensions are the same as a 40, but a little wider than a :pig: I fabbed a radius arm style for the 40 & a 5 link for the :pig: If you are going to use the stock width axles, it'll be very tight for coil springs, but doable. On both of my rigs, I used a rear axle up front, cut off the SF ends, flipped it & used D60 outers for more width. I run 2" spacers in the rear too. I was too cheap to run $450 each coilovers up front. All but the top coil retainer on the 40 are from a TJ & all of the coils are TJ lift coils. You can check out my build threads for more info.
