Looking to fly out and pick up a 40th anniversary edition. Quick question on the front grill; did the 1997 version have only the toyota symbol on the front grille or did they also make the front grille with ‘Toyota’ spelt out?

95-97 had the Sombrero hat. You can switch it out though. I did this on my 95. More of a classic look.

I did this with my ‘97 40th.
Quick and easy, but the older grills are a little shorter so there’s a little gap at the bottom. Whatever. Also masked and painted Toyota a bronze color.

40th Anniversary FZJ-80s had the Toyota symbol (“Sombrero”) in black chrome (“Black Pearl”) which are NLA from Toyota.

The TOYOTA grill looks cooler, but also looks to allow less air flow, and there is the gap at the bottom issue.
