Thanks for asking. I didn't mention that because I wasn't sure. I gathered some parts to build and restore a collapsible column for an 83 bj40. This shaft was a spare and the exact same length as the one I'm currently using with all OEM PS parts. When everything was assembled, the entire length was much shorter than the manual shaft( non collapsible) i removed. So I'm guessing this would work. Seems to be a lot of room in there for the shaft to move up or down...... but this is my first time working on a collapsible.Is this from a manual or power steering column?
Sent you a DMOkay using a small screwdriver was able to measure to shaft pin without dismantling. Definitely longer. I can measure over 6" of the shaft that is exposed.
