Agreed, just wanted to note the "locked CDL" issues you brought up
I could have, and probably should have, introduced it by way of my snow rallying story that got me to overheat chasing down the NorCal wagon group on the first DV trip. I had stayed up for about 3 consecutive days trying to complete my oem aux fuel tank setup and then drive insanely from Riverside up to DV and pray that in a NP the size of DV I'd have a good enough idea of where the group would be that I could find them. One last check of the elec connections in the truck and one last check of email and the NorCal80's list and I tore out of town with the s/c whistling. Got into Ballarat just after high noon, circled the parking lot where the group was supposed to be having lunch, totally missed a note on a paper plate, and then proceeded to jam up North Pleasant Canyon. It was soggy from snowmelt and I locked the cdl and kept my foot on the good pedal. Soggy, loose two-track gave way to deeper and deeper snow and that's when I saw the tracks of what could only be a group of 80's. The snowy tracks wove their way through junipers as I continued to mash it and do my best Collin MaCrae imitation. Then the A/T light, then the coolant temp, and I was sitting by myself as the sun set making a cup of tailgate coffee and letting everything calm down. I finally got up to speed and low and behold only about another 1/2-mile up the road the group was busy making their now-famous 13-course dinner and settling in for the night at one of the cabins.
