4-piston 4runner calipers

Not to hijack, but I'm in the process of doing the same conversion.
I also know that the extent of the problem depends on the wheels- does anyone know if this is an issue if using stock steelies.
Can I avoid this by using pre-IFS or 60 series calipers?

You won't have to grind 60 calipers- that's what is stock. I think the solid front axle 4Runners used the same calipers.

Yep (assuming of course you're talking about a disc brake 40!)
