So I just recently did the head gaskets on a 92 4runner and I got it all timed and took it out for its first drive and then heard a noise and lost about half of my oil pressure so I pulled over and there was oil dripping out the bottom on to the floor. So I started looking and it was coming from the back of the head where the plug/seal goes and I got another one and drove it around for another like ten minutes and it feel out again any ideal why it would be doing this or if anyone has run into this?

hmm.... Hey wait a minute... The heads on the V6 are the same... There are not two heads, left and right...

So the leak, if it was on the back of one head, would be on the front of the opposite...

So it's a cam seal. Just w/o a hole for the cam to come through...

How did you get another one in there and drive it? B/c if you did it with the engine in, you are a Ninja Toyota Tech...

ALWAYS get the heads done or re worked when you do a 3.0 V6... Take them to a head shop and tell them you want this back in BRAND NEW condition...

NEVER put mystery motor heads back on a V6 engine and install it....

I figured it out the machine shop didn't put the brackets that bolt to the head to hold the cam plugs in on the back of the head so it just kept falling out once there was to much pressure so I took of the manifold and now its good to go! Thanks
