The manual in my US 09 LC does specify another weight higher in oil as an option (5W I think). If you get a chance, copy the page from your manual and post it here.

ye i can hear the injectors, its a hard sound to hear through video. cousin checked it out yesterday and reckons it sounds lije a pulley

ok so cousin had a good lookk at the car reckons its a crappy belt or pulley making the noise but one more quick question. i need to update my vehicle details and change my engine number. the old block had
T40802-192088 where the engine number is but my rego paper has 3UR301579, which one is the engine number?

so that random diesel clattet from the right hand side is normal

I never had a chance to do any internal work on the 3UR before I left Lexus but if its anything like the 1UR, theres a high pressure fuel pump mounted on the passenger side valve cover. Its driven by a cam lobe and ticks like crazy.

thanks Ton504, that should pretty much stop my worry!

so did the 1000km oil and filter change last night and couldnt see anything out of the ordinary, fee smal bits of metal from the filter thats it, nothing on the drain plug either. service manager told me if a bearing or rof was knocking it would look like glitter in the oil

so update, knew the water pump was leaking, jad it and the drive belt replaced today and no more intermittent noise at idle, still have slight ticking noise under accelration which could still be some rust on the puullies or even just exhaist manifold

I've owned several Toyota & Lexus vehicles from 2008 to 2015, and they all use(d) 0-20W synthetic oil. I use Mobil 1.

This is what most LC200 owners with the 5.7l petrol engine outside the U.S. have in their owner's manual:

FYI

HTH

Mine has the same noise at idle. All maintenance is kept up, no leaks, babied all the time.
