3L engine into 82 p/u

Thought I'd post this here maybe some '79-'95 owners would get a kick out of it.
1982 2WD DLX (2.2l NA 1L diesel) gets a 1989 2.8l 3L diesel and turbo from a 2LTE engine and top mount intercooler.

why top mount? what are your plans for a hood?

Is it that big of a deal to have a top mount intercooler?

There was almost no room in the front for the IC. The pre '84 engine bay is not quite as roomy as the '84 onward (was going to put a 1KZT in, but it wouldn't fit). The fitting and plumbing was going to turn out to be a bigger PIA than cutting a hole in the hood, besides the cool factor is over the top . The big one is a Mopar six-pack scoop turned backward, the little one is a generic Summit Racing jobbie. About $110 worth of plastic. The IC is for a mid '80s MR2.

what kind of tourque and mpg does that produce ? im a huge oil burner fan ..i have a few sd33's

where did you get it at?

~90hp and 140 ft lb. I expect with the turbo it might give me ~115hp, and I can't see it being any worse than a M/B 240D which gets ~30mpg. Used Japanese Engine (JDM) - Sound Damping / Rustproofing brings these engines in every so often. ~$2,800 + shipping.
