3L cross post question

Anyone installed the 3L into a 7 series prado?

If so any hurdles or little things to look for, is it a direct bolt up???

I knew of someone here in portland that had a 3L to put in a 2L hilux. He had the engine only and I think he had a lot of issues matching it up to a transmission.

Of course if you have an engine/trans together its not an issue.

The L series engines all share the same block I think so the engine mounts should be the same. I would be suprised if the transmission cross members would be different, but I say this with a Hilux in mind. The Prado could be different?? Do you have a wiring harness to go with the 3L - I think you would want one going from EFI to mechanical inj pump.

Is it really a good swap for the effort? How much power difference will you gain for the extra 400cc and no turbo? Or is this a "reliability" issue. Regardless make sure cooling system is 105% and go with a bigger exhaust with the 3L and you should be good.

I think there is a guy in Vancouver who has performed the swap and added his turbo from the 2lt to the engine and is very pleased.
