3FE to 1FZ... Help!

Hey guys need a little help with my 91' 80 series. Basically the previous owner swapped out the 3FE for a 1FZ but didn't swap the ecu, at the same time he installed a gas system so it didn't cause him any problems. The gas system is now 10 years old and despite all effort has been going downhill..

I'm wondering how much work would go into replacing the ecu to get it back on fuel and ditch the gas system all together. Alternatively can anyone fill me in on liquid gas injection, which would supposedly come with its own ecu?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I've got twins on the way and I'm running out of time to sort out my vehicles

I would be cheaper to just get the gas system that's installed working right. To get it running on petrol u will need full wiring loom ECU maybe cluster. To go injected gas the petrol system must be working right first, as it runs on petrol until it's up to temp.

I think this could be the first 3FE to 1FZ swap I ever heard of. More information about "going down hill" and pics are always welcome.

I am wrapping up my 3fe to 1fz swap and yes everything is different. The entire loom, the center dash/climate controls, gauge cluster, ecu, fuel lines are on the opposite frame rail. I am finishing fuel lines right now. I would get a back up car and drive the cruiser till she quits. I know I wouldn't ever do this swap again!

I have seen a bunch of threads asking if it is possible, but like Summit Cruisers I have never heard of it being done. Then today a thread pops up and at least two people have done the swap. Sorry I can't help any, but I find it quite interesting that it has actually been done.
