Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if the PCV might happen to dump more of its oil around #3, or if I should be concerned about valve stems or rings for this cylinder.

Granted, it's not a lot of oil, but it's more than the others. The plugs generally didn't look great, but no notable amount of oil on the others, at least compared to this one. Glad I replaced them.

Appreciate any insights you can offer. Thank you!

My 3fe ran great. I would get anywhere from 12mpg to 16mpg with an average of 13mpg. It consistently did better than my 1fz fe with the same gearing and tires.

But everytime I changed plugs they would be horrible. Some would have oil, others would be burnt, sometimes they were white....zero consistency.

I'm not saying it's normal but my experience was always ugly jacked up plugs in my 91 but it sure ran good up until I totalled it and had put 130,000 miles on it.

That's really strange! Good to know.

This one has been getting about 12MPG, mostly highway. Hoping to improve that.

Cruising 65 on the highway is when I saw my best. If I was driving the interstate at 75 or more it would drop down to 12mpg.

If I was still driving a 3fe 80 I would stay on top of the oil charges, air filter, plugs, wires, and valve adjustments.

Than I would be saving money from each paycheck for a v8 swap 🤣

The 3fe is a simple reliable low maintenance engine. But I wouldn't throw money at one.
