3FE Inside frame exhaust route questions.

Searched and searched but could not find what I was looking for.

Has anyone routed their exhaust inside the frame rails with a 3FE? Do you have pics?

I would really like to not build protection for my factory placed cats that have recently developed an exhaust leak and mount my homemade sliders to the frame the same on both sides.

The flanges are pretty rusty so I am looking for some resources for the flanges that mount to the exhaust manifolds so I can buy them or duplicate them before I go and cut the exhaust off.

the motor is currently de-smogged, not likely that a cat will be re-installed and the oxygen sensors very rusty not sure if they are salvageable, not against getting a replacement that screws in to a weld on bung.

Suggestions? Am I crazy?

Basically doing the same thing myself. Depending where you live almost no exhaust shops will touch it unless youre reinstalling cats. I'm not. So its a DIY project. Find,buy or make a Y pipe. And if u have the basic tools you could do it from pieces from any auto store. Just remember your O2's and make sure you run close enough to the motor that the down pipe won't hit the frame rail from the motor torquing.

Just researching running a header inside the frame on a 3FE 80 series without a y-pipe. Did you run into any issues with heat and how did you deal with O2 sensors?
I know this is a 10 year old post, so if you're on here still thanks in advance for looking at this

So, I found a solution but it was to remove the 3FE and replace it with an LS...
10 years already? Plans changed, Life and work have definitely gotten in the way of this project.

Yeah, I still appreciate the response! I'm searching for a Toyota diesel solution, an LS opens up another can of worms that I'm not ready to open.
