3F Engine temperature gauge not working

Hi all,

My engine temperature gauge on my FJ73 isn't working. It's permanently on low.

Is there any tips on how to resolve this issue?

Install an aftermarket [pick your favorite brand] gauge. Fought that issue on my old 60 and it wasn't worth the struggle. Same with oil pressure, but that was arguably really not necessary on the gasser if you just check it once in a while and it's not bleeding.

You can buy the temp sender cheap but if you could borrow one thats working that would be ok.
I used a 3F sender on a 1HZ and it worked well, so I cant see why a 1HZ sender wouldn't work on a 3F.
There is probably a test in the FSM
Is the wire connected to the sender?

Cheers mate, oil seems to be fine but always nice to know youre not cooking your engine haha

Thanks for that @roscoFJ73 Probably it being a mechanical engine allows it work..? No idea.
I've only had the FJ for a month so not sure where the sender is. Can you send a photo of where it's located? Cheers!

Top left corner is what the parts diagram shows where it says gagewater

I see it under the thermostat housing with a yellow wire just underneath the hose clamp near the shroud.

Thats it. I think Rook has found it but is now looking for a missing wire.
