Well I'm building some more 3b turbo manifolds. There has been enough intrest that I had a few flanges cut both stainless and mild steel.

I will be welding them up here in the near future and if anyone wants one let me know.

They will be posted in the Diesel section as well but VI Cruisers get the first dibs.

1 stainless is spoken for and 1 Mild steel as well.

I have 1 of each left if anyone is planning a TURBO in the future.

PM me for prices.

Cool rob, Ill have to get on building some more. What turbo flange do you want? Standard T3?

So, just took my manifold off cuz of a leak. Almost seems a waste of the new gasket to put the stock one back on...

Got any built right now?

Almost hoping you say no...my shop is in no state for a turbo project...

No, im afraid I have them all spoken for. Sorry Ryan.

no worries, to be honest, really not ready for the turboner operation at the moment, so kindof a relief...

I'll probably be grabbin one off you in the summer tho...I kinda miss the smell of super heated oil and 3b fear...

No you miss driving the speed limit.

I have asked all over the place and no definite answer, if there is one... Would it be utter and complete insanity to stuff a turbo 3B and H55 in my LX450? I'm not looking for a speed demon (duhh!), but I want to be able to make it over the Hat!
Ideas? Thoughts?

As much as I like my 3B's, it's not really suited for a truck like that.

It'll be working pretty hard to move all that opulence around so the mileage wouldn't be s*** hot.

I've NEVER made it over the malahat in 4th, even in a fairly light aluminum bodied 40 with a turbo. Came close a couple times, but you have to rev the grandmother out of it to get it to go, and I didn't want to kill the poor 3b just for the sake of saying I made it in 4th.

they're cheap and easy to find, but I think I'd look into some of the Merc diesels instead , my old man has a 90ish merc wagon, which is heavy as hell and it goes like a raped ape.

They'd fit fairly easy as they're nowhere near as tall as a Cummins, but if you don't mind the lift needed to fit a 4bt, that's probably the best bet.

Edit...completely forgot about toyota diesels...

you see the odd 80 showing up for 6 grand now. and there always seems to be a couple 1hz's in the for sale section.

I have driven a soa 60 on 35s with stock gears that Corey from Kodiak built with an ATX turbo, and it was great to drive. Can't be THAT much heavier in an 80?

If I had access to a 1HZ I would. 3Bs seem easier to find...

Ya thats a lot of work for not much power... And I think you will find an 80 is significantly heavier, probably not 1000 lbs heavier but might be close.
