3b struggling to start

I Have a bj73 1985 with the 3b, the battery is a few months old but the engine struggles to turn over even when i charge the battery. it sounds like the battery is flat when it is cranking over, is this a problem with the starter motor?

Also when on rough tracks the battery light on the dash will flicker, are these 2 issues related?

Sounds like a battery issue...

check connection; bttery-startermotor-alternater-ground.(with good flashlight)

retighten the connections and use some electric cleaner.

try again with a charched battery.

if that dont work open the startermotor and check brusches.

check fuel suply line.

I would assume you have a bad connection somewhere.

Remove the terminals and clean them up, and clean up your ground as well. Clean the starter post also.

What voltage is your battery reading (with a multimeter) ?
