Refreshing a 1985 3b. PO ran it with no oil. Luckily the only damage done was to the camshaft bearings… so now I’m trying to decide if this oil pump is any good… when I tore into it the larger gear was flipped arrow side down … I’ve always seen both arrows side up in previous oil pumps… is this to much scoring to reuse? Clearances are with in spec but wondering if I should run it as is, or buy new gears and pump cover or just blow $500 on a new (aftermarket) timing cover and pump… also, should I flip that gear to arrow side up if I do reuse the gears?
