hi all

I have had a bit of a hunt around looking at EDIC stuff but my problem seems a bit more unique then the common problems with the EDIC unit.

1895 BJ73 with a 3B was running fine until i messed with the following.

New 55W ebay headlights
Removed crappy old spotlight wiring and did all new wiring with a relay running off the high beam wire behind the headlight, power for relay comes straight from the battery. 4x100w spotlights on the roof with all 6mm diameter wiring.

Now when i turn on the parkers - all good
when i turn on the headlights the EDIC motor continuously cycles
when i turn on high beam the EDIC motor continues to cycle
when i turn on the spotlights (via switch in relay circuit) the EDIC motor cycles a little faster.

got me stumped?? is there a link between headlights and EDIC?

Thanks

ok now I have expanded my search capabilities on this website, ignore this thread until i try all the things i have read in the last 5 min. If i find a solution I will post it here!

And solution found, installed a new earth strap from the battery negative to the body and presto problem gone. I think it may have had to do with my new spotlight earth being connected to the body and changing the electrical voodoo balance which in turn upset the EDIC controller. well thats my simple theory if any one else finds this solution helpful it worked for me.
