Bennett- Should I worry about over extending the slave cylinder? that was my initial hesitation in doning a swap such as that. Thanks for the help guys Chris[/QUOTE said:
I guess you could over extend the slave but it did not happen to me.
I took care of that by adjusting the slave rod almost to to it's shortest position.
I pulled the rubber cap and watched the slave movement and I was not close to coming out at full pedal.
Also you need to have your throw out bearing not touching the fingers of the plate ..
mine is about 3/32" away. no spin on the t/o at all now with the new setup and no grinding gears. Works great IMO.
I was told by a reputable Trans shop that the short Chevy throw out bearing goes with the curved cast cluth fork and a long throw out bearing with a flat cast clutch fork. I have the curved cast fork and the short t/ bearing . It barley worked for 6 months ( lots of grinding)until I went to the pre 69 brake master. Do a search on birfield.com .. lots fo info there.

I dno't think its your slave being bled improperly. That is an easy foolproof bleed with a bleed bottle. I still think its your slave Throw!
