Since the season is winding down, I'm finally getting around to fixing the oil leaks on my 80. I think the main cause of it is the front oil seal and oil pump gasket. I may also have a rear seal leak but I can't tell until I fix the front leak first since it leaks about a quart a gas tank. I read the oil pump seal thread and got the parts and new screws, but I don't know where to get a torque wrench that will go up to 350 ft/lbs to tighten the crank bolt.

Any places you guys can recommend that rent a wrench that big? I checked around me but they only have ones that go to 250.

Rob, Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check the yellow pages for a machine shop around me. I tried the Autozones, Murray's and Pep Boys but all they had only went up to 200 ft/lbs and they couldn't tell me when or if they have ever been calibrated.

I had a whole list of things to do on the truck, but nothing went as planned. I'm still working on the PHH. I got it off but it's being a PITA to get back on. I can't get the pipe to move enough to line up and get it to slide on to the engine side nipple. I pulled the radiator out to get more room in anticipation for the front seal and oil pump cover but now I can't get the crank bolt off.

Theres a couple of different methods for getting the crank bolt off. Many use the starter and a breaker bar.

Using a 12 mm deep on a torque converter bolt helps keep the engine from turning.

I use heat and an impact wrench to get them off myself.

Use silicone spray to lube the hose enough to get it up the tube.
