Hi guys,
I hope I found the right section to post my question. Maybe you can give me some nice ideas and recommendations. I'm a 28 year old dude from Germany so please don't be offended by my English
I've visited the USA a couple of times. Miami, New Orleans, cross country from SF to NYC, Las Vegas and the National Parks around it ( Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Moab,...) as well as California. You guys have an awesome country!
Though I've been on tar road all the time
Last year I spend about 6 month in Australia. Bought an Landcruiser HJ60 and drove 30.000km through that beautiful country. Of course I did a lot of 4WD tracks like Victoria's High Country, Oodnadatta Track, Simpson Desert, Savannah Way, Cape York,... just to name a few...
Anyway, I fall in love with off road driving and would like to visit the USA again. I love reading the Toyota Trails magazine and would like to drive some of those tracks. My girlfriend has not been to the west of the US, so she'd like to see those amazing National Parks as well.
My first problem is to find a decent 4WD. Most likely I'll book a flight to Las Vegas. Possibly LA or SF. Of course I'd prefer a Toyota though I'd drive a capable 4WD of a different brand, too. I don't need a full setup with lift and winch but I'd prefer some good off road tires. Do you have any idea where I can rent a good 4WD? Alamo, Hertz,... they only rent stock 4WDs...
What kind of tracks would you recommend? I don't want to take it to hard. It's just a rental car
Moreover I'd like to meet up with some guys from the Toyota 4WD scene in the US. Would be nice to see your cars and have some beer
