I removed the screw and nothing is holding it on just unable to free 34 years of grim. WD40'd the thing to death, yanked on it, hit it with a mallet.....nothing. Anyone remove one of these. Any tricks? WTF am I missing. Thank you in advance to all those who respond. Want this think off!!!

Hi .
I removed mine, I think I may have hit it with a BFH for a bit, I think it could just be stuck on there from years of use.
Its possible to cut it off, Even if you cut the inner part and slid it through, Its been about 6 years since I did mine.
Good luck!

Yep: soaked mine in PB Blaster and wacked it loose with a BFH. Just last week.

mine came right off. Then I had to spend 45minutes a couple days later sanding off the POR15 I coated on the inside so that I could get it back ON!

I like my column shifter and will take anyones old linkage if they are tossing them!
