3" Lift to clear 35's?

Hey guys, brand new to the community.

Does anyone know if a 3" lift would be enough to clear 35" tires?

Not an FJC guy but the best thing to start off with is to do a search. You'll find plenty of stuff about lifts and there are one or two awesome threads with all kinds of pics of different configurations.

No problem, when i was thinkin about the FJC i found a lot of good info in there. Thought i'd point thediplomat to the same threads that i found useful when i was looking (even though i dont have an fjc i still drop by in here to see whats goin on).
 
Depends on the exact tire, how flexy your rear suspension is, and how hard you wheel it. My 34" Toyo Open Country MT's rub in the rear fender wells when fully stuffed. I've got a 3" Donahoe (Icon) front and OME rear lift, and a body mount chop on the front (or they would rub there too).
 
I'm kinda seeking out the vets on the site. I want to upgrade the 3 inch lift I have to 6in. 4 wheel parts owns pro-comp, so they are shoving it down my choke hole!! I'm mainly on the roads, and make 5-8 trips a year from CO, CA to Moab. I don't want to trade an arm for the lift, and I have coilovers now. I don't do enought to actually use the coilover. What would you recomment...i'm looking at proocomt, fabtech, OME and rough country. Rough country sounds appealing to the wallet and I have to have something that accomedates 35 tires. OME said 275/70, I'm running 305/70/17. Any thoughts...it would be appreciated! happy wheeling

Not sure if I would recommend going to a "taller" lift than what you have. I've run my present tires with an OME 886/895 springs without any issues. As I'm sure you know, much of any rubbing issues are due to wheel offset.

Its my personal experience that I don't want to raise the center of gravity any more than necessary to fit my 35 x 10.5 x 16's tires. I currently have ICON's on the front with the same OME 885/N140 set up in the rear. No problem running with them.

Anything wrong with your current suspension, why the need to change? Things I'd consider would be the potential benefit of raising the center of gravity, while dropping the ground clearance in the front (due to the diff brackets) vs keeping your current set up and putting the resources toward something of real benefit. Like an Inchworm Lefty, that will give you an off-road bang for your buck IMHO...
