...cuz I'm a dumbass and left my headlights on all day.

Anyhoo...a hdj81 can be jump started using 12V. One of the batteries even has a huge bright yellow sticker that says DO NOT JUMP START FROM THIS BATTERY, which is probably why I didn't notice it first .

So you can put all those rumours and fears away that you need 24v to start one of these beasts.

Well yah, that was my point. I understood the starting system was 24v, and was under the impression that complicate things. And a relay...whats a relay? :D

Funny story, was just talking to a buddy and told him I got my first diesel and how I don't know anything about them. His response was "thats okay, you dont know anything about gas either"

Now quit botherin me, I'm gonna go wrench on my 40 now and try not to break anything. Gotta get her in tip top shape for this weekend :)

Everybody knows what a relay is....its a race where kids pass a batton to their partner!
Here is grandson Shikai (Shack) in his relay...

I've jumped 24v systems numerous times and haven't had any troubles. I put a jumper pack on the 0-12v battery and connect jumper cables to the 12-24 volt side and Bob's your uncle.
