I've got a buddy with a 95 4Runner at 180k miles...original owner, his fishing rig, smells like a$$, but he loves it. She's got a few issues though - consumes a ton of oil, part of which was resolved by having the head gone through last year, but there's a pretty severe leak from what he thinks is the rear main, as well as a few other standard issues associated with a 16 year old rig with 180k miles.
He's debating between replacing the rig or making an investment and keeping it. He'd like to keep it, but not sure what kind of money he's looking at to address some of the mechanical issues. He'd like to take it to a reputable shop to walk him through some of the issues, give him an estimate, and then make a decision about what he wants to do.
I've pulled a few local recommendations from the 60 series mechanics thread, but wondering if anyone has dealt with the below or if they can recommend anyone else in Portland. I'm in rural NE Oregon so I'm of no help to him.
If anyone can either provide a recommendation from their own experience or if they've dealt with the below please let me know.
