engine exchange

If i was to buy a FJ40 what would be required to swap the engine out and replace it with a B or 3B Diesel engine apart from a diesel engine that is eg: different alternator, fuelpump, starter motor etc, Sorry it's a stupid question but i haven't got a clue if it's possible and what needs to be changed. Also, will the transmission have any problems connecting to a diesel, and any other problems that may arise.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I've done a little research on the subject. You'll need a new input shaft for the transmisison and a new bell housing. Probably new motor mounts also. Could be some electrical issues also as some of the diesels are 24V. There is a thread in hardcore section about this swap.

The "B" series is different from the "F" series. If you want an easier diesel conversion for the "F" series go with an "H" series diesel as they share motor mounts/trannys etc. etc.
