I need a 2f motor. Anyone know where one can be had?
 
Willing to look at both options.
 
I'm your huckleberry. I bought a decent 2F to put in mine when the machine shop was taking forever. Just as I'm ready to make the switch the machine shop gets mine done. It came from a 3/76 FJ40 that was running when parked a couple years ago. I managed to get it fired up, but never ran it for any length of time. What all do you need. Whole or part? I have been picking at it for the last few months.
 
"Alright Lunger, you go to hell" I need as much as you have. Lots an oil pump in a F motor an toasted the engine. Want to move to a 2f so I am not sure what extra I need.
 
what's it going in and I can tell ya what you'll need. depending on accessories you want to run, which valve cover, which air cleaner etc.
 
1970 fj40. Has a F currently. Mated to a fj60 4spd. Lost the oil pump and toasted the motor. I can shoot you a pic if it helps.

Just did exact same swap last year in my 73, had F with 4 speed trans/3 speed xfer case. Depends on what all comes with your motor, I had one complete and ready to drop in. It was easy, the swap part at least....
 
you provide the beer I will talk. once the beer runs out I tend to run out of ideas or just forget, not sure which it was..
 
I don't remember ever running out of beer. I think marty brought 12 cases of seasonal beer last year
 
Got 2 options for ya.
#1: once running 2f from a 81 fj60. Heard it run a couple of years ago before I parked it and started robbing parts.

#2: 2f in my fj40. About 6k miles since rebuild. Bored, head shaved, valve job, mark whatley cam, header, mark algazy carb. Super strong motor. Hope to be at smorr on Sat. Selling for diesel swap.
 
Twelve cases sounds good butlers motor sounds good as well

I'm not exactly sure what it's worth. I'll ask around and get an idea of what price range I should be in. Would be best for you to check it out this weekend and make me an offer.

Might also be interested in the 60. Mine is tired and I wouldnt mind trying to rebuild one before I pull mine out.
 
Is the 60 2f in the truck we talked about a while back. Still need a frame. I would be interested in both the frame and engine
 
I'll have my 40 at smorr. The 60 doesn't have axles under it anymore. I'd love for it to find a new home. Make you a helluva deal on the whole package.
