Did I mention the H55 five speed transmission?

TB :D :P ::) :P :D :beer:

Cascade: No worries. For $US20K you can spank his 60.
Start with 12H-T, H55-F, HF2-A, 4.11:1 cable locked diffs (rear full float)
and SOA. Then you add things like propane, nitrous, full cage, traction
bars, custom-built injection pump, intercooler, bigger injectors and an
adjustable wastegate.
I actually fully intend to have a 12 second 60 when I'm done. :D
Oh, and did I mention it'll be 100% pure Toyota? :D

i checked mine this evening on the way home and i'm running about 2200 rpm at 65 mph, stock suspension and tire size (for now anyway)

I think we covered that Pimp-Meister.

I'll shut up until it is.

Then watch out baby!

Actually there is one thing better than a HJ60 and that's a HJ62 running on home made Biodiesel (<25c a litre = 80c USGallon) Oh yeah and 25MPG ... that's cheap motoring

OK, just to continue with the same theme - I will admit that I am yet to build my Biodiesel manufacturing processor - but I have plans ;)

Thanks, JJ. That is pretty good... manual or auto?

Start with 12H-T, H55-F,

Hey HJ, you think your fancy 12HT is going to spank my HZ? You should read an article in 4x4 Australia this month. They tested a DTS turbo charged 1HZ against a 1HD-FT in all areas. The 1HZ KILLED the FT. I'm pretty curious how your 12HT is going to spank my intercooled turbo'd propaned 1HZ?

Give it up bubba.

Isn't the 1HZ an Indirect Injection Diesel??? I was under the assumption that that was a no go for propane injection, actually I am sure it is? I believe you need to have a direct injection deisel or you are going to blow those precups to peices.....

Maybe the 12H-T could do a little spanking...... :D (i've got one on PI :flipoff2:)

Is that true about not using PI for an indirect engine? I've not heard that addressed before. I cant believe that propane has that much effect as to cause damage to that head. We're only talking about a 10 to 15% increase in performance. It doesnt seem to me that that is critical.

Well, we will see then. It's a challenge for sure.

TB

ya, Rob Mullen, the writer of the FAQ always warned us about PI on a 3B with ID. He said it was a no-go. And I tend to trust the man and his knowledge about diesel engines.

There was a thread about it on the DTLC list a while back...Or maybe it was the RMLCA list.. I can't remember. One of these days I will test his theory out and blow up and old 3B I have kicking around...

sorry for the bad news :-\

here is the link http://www.birfield.com/archives/html/dtlc/2003-09/msg00240.html

After reading that thread again he doesn't think it's a good idea on any TLC engine!!!

sorry for the bad news

Well you know what you can almost always say, "Worse things have happened to better people"!

That's not bad news. President Reagen dieing is bad news. All this means is I dont have to spend the money. That's good news really. I'll just have to use a bigger intercooler, and exhaust.

By that 4x4 Australia mags information on how the HZ kicked ass on the FT I doubt I'll need PI.

It's all fun.

haha, hey hj60 you better get your 60 on a serious diet if you want to see 12 seconds!!!

not the same rig, fj62 will have an overdrive in 4th(as well as 4.10 gears) a fj60 has no overdrive, so it will be turning more RPM's than your 62.

Hey LP, could you even GET a 62 with a manual trans?

I dont think so.

Damn slush boxes.

TB

statts, i have a fairly stock 62, which is an auto trans, although i'm sure you can find someone on this board who's done the conversion over to stick! :)

i've only had my 62 about a month and am pleasantly surprised at how well it runs, it just chugs right along, although that's what i hear about the 3FE motors!

ps i have yet to check my mpg yet, don't know if i want to go there...

not in the US, but elseware, it could even be had with the 3f(carbed)

yes you can do the swap using a H55F(which JJ BTW should be able to get a deal on as he is with Lexus) If you used a NEW H55F and did the swap right, it will proly cost 4k.

Personaly I like the A440F auto as found in the 88-92 cruisers, its one tough unit.

figured you would have a nice parts discount, bummer. Funny my buddy is a parts guy at Toyota, when he buy a new Toyota he goes to the other dealer in town, they offer a better deal by FAR!
