I bought a wiring kit from the local auto parts place (12v), can I just replace the bulbs with 24 volt bulbs and call it good? Also same dilemma I have seen others ask about, four wire harness land cruiser has separate turn and brake light wires, what to do, can I just hook my brake and running lights to the same wire and have the separate turn signal wire? I do not plan on towing at night, but if I do with the running lights on and hit the brakes am I gonna blow a fuse.

Thanks

You need a converter. Not sure if the 12v one works with 24v. It combines the amber signals and the brake to work with trailer tail lights.

I tried a combiner from Canadian tire - worked for a little while before it burnt up at an inconvenient time....

I ended up installing 24 volt bulbs and installing a second set of lights on the trailer - only had to run one wire back from connection point and split for new lights.

A 24 volt combiner must be available - I never did search:confused:

Thanks for the idea on the second set of lights, this is what I wound up doing. I will wire my brake lights into the added plug, don't know yet if it will work:confused:

Looks Good...

Just make sure that when you wire your new lights - wire the "running light" circuit to the low wattage side of the dual filament bulb. This way the flashing of Brake/Turn signals will always be brighter than the running lights.

I found a 24V, 4 ---> 3 convertor at a trailer supply place, they had to order it in. Looks just like the 12V variety. Then swapped the 12V trailer lights for 24V. Works great, plus when I put the trailer behind a 12V vehicle I just swap the bulbs.
