after getting back from an awesome weekend trail adventure last week i sprayed down my truck top, bottom and under the hood....didnt drive it for 5 days then when i did it starts popping and running like $hi! within a mile orso.....it might be related to the soaking it took i dunno....i cant even touch it till next weekend but any ideas....coil/igniter....distributor....it is kinda running but how do i check for spark quality or fuel pressure??

Chill..., not a big deal, i would start with removing the distributor cap and making sure there is no water in there. Thats the most common problem. Then make sure there is no water trapped under plug wires.

Put some silicone on it and spray a little WD40 in there while you have it open.

Ok so I finally got to look at the truck and found it was 3 problems combining to create what happened

1. First off distributer looked like a monsoon inside...easy fix

2. heater hose goin into heater core was loose and had sprayed some antifreeze on the back off the motor...(looked bad when i popped the hood but no big deal)

3.when i tried to start the motor that day it went spin, crunch, spin, crunch, and at one point the starter locked up...that combined with the antifreeze and missing/popping and 3hp max...scared the shiite out of me......turns out the power steering idler/tensioner bearing was locking up and causing a noticeable effect in the motor turning

so, tighten a hose clamp, 25 cents worth of WD40 in the dist, and press a new $8 bearing into the idler and im back to life...

thanx for your help
